Sunday at 10 a.m. we will gather together for our worship service and Pastor Sherryl will continue with Stories From Scripture, speaking from Esther 4:1-17; Luke 9:23-24 with a sermon entitled For A Moment Like This

We invite you to join in a Day of Prayer and Fasting for the Lead Pastor and volunteer positions that are available. Please fast prayerfully however the Lord prompts. To see the specific needs, download a flyer here or pick one up at the Information Centre.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Thank You! – Heather Dyck

I want to extend a big thank you to the ladies of McIvor for the lovely bridal shower that they put on for me last weekend. I am filled with such gratitude for the love, prayer and support shown to me (and Jarret) as we prepare to enter a new chapter together!

New Addition to McIvor’s Library – Joyful Anyway by Kate Bowler

Some will be excited to know that our library now carries Joyful Anyway by Kate Bowler, New York Times bestselling author of Everything Happens For A Reason: And Other Lies I’ve Loved.

A meditation on the absurdity of being alive. A deeply moving everyday masterpiece.” – Elizabeth Gilbert

Lost and Not Yet Found – in the Church Office

Currently in the office’s lost and found: a silver hoop earring, a knitted baby toy, a couple of grey hoodies and a china mug.

Summer Worship Schedule – Thursday, July 2, 7 p.m.

Mark your calendars! Our summer worship services will be held on Sunday mornings, with the exception of the three long weekends. Prior to each long weekend, the worship service will be held at 7 p.m. on the Thursday before: July 2, July 30 and September 3. This means there will be no Sunday services on July 5, August 2 and September 6.

With Canada Day coming up, Thursday, July 2 at 7 p.m. will be our first Thursday evening service of the summer.

Help Send Kids to Camp!

This year McIvor is able to send 15 young people (ages 8-17) to Camp Arnes, including two older teens to Crew, the two-week work program. Most of the kids will be attending August 10-15, with the two Crew members starting on August 4. How can you help?

  • Pray for campers (prayer cards are coming soon) and for Camp Arnes who is still looking to fill key staff roles.
  • Donate to the Campership Fund to cover the portion McIvor will pay (still being finalized) and various camp supplies needed by campers.
  • Launder donated sleeping bags. Some of the sleeping bags being stored at church were used last year. It would be great if volunteers could take a few bags to a laundromat to be washed and dried, ready for new campers.
  • Donate beach towels for campers who do not have one.

Please direct your questions to Colleen or Clara.

McIvor Job Postings

Let’s continue to pray for the people that God already has in mind to fill these open positions (click to see the job description):

Please pass on these employment opportunities to those who might be a good fit for this season at McIvor. There are also hard copies of these job descriptions available at the Information Centre. Contact hr@mcivorchurch.com for more information.

Counselling Services Coming in Fall – September 2026-April 2027

Meghan Fowler, a student in the Providence Theological Seminary’s Master of Counselling program has asked to complete her practicum in partnership with our church. Her services will be available from September 2026 to mid-April 2027. Council believes that this is a wonderful opportunity for McIvor congregants to seek Christian counselling during this period.
